International Travel Grants scheme facilitates collaboration between UK and overseas scientists in order to exploit opportunities for building lasting networks. This new scheme allows UK scientists to visit their German counterparts or for German scientists to travel to the UK . The Joint Projects scheme supports collaboration between two individuals or research groups, one in the UK and one in Germany , and runs for two years. In addition, the Royal Society has just launcheda new International Fellowship programme in collaboration with the British Academy and Royal Academy of Engineering: The Newton International Fellowships. This new scheme, which covers all areas of humanities, engineering, social and natural sciences, is open to early post-doctoral researchers from any country other than the UK , including Germany .
